This is such an insightful and interesting look at the historical non-binary lens, and how it links back to modern icons today. As you’ve said, we need to stop limiting ourselves with out-dated attitudes about gender. Great read!

What a wonderful way through Styles if bringing Woolf to the present! I can definitely see the parallels and like the way he writes his own narrative. Many of the historical notes here are fascinating--thanks for those. I used to love teaching Orlando to high school students. What a deeply thought provoking and wild text! And the Tilda Swinton version is also fantastic.
