Thank you for this list! The Guest and The Truants were both fast-paced reads - perfect for Autumn reading. I’m looking forward to reading your newsletters on both x

Couldn’t quite agree with you re. Annika, but I do re. The Split! 😉 Loved it.

It was sooooo good, wasn't it? I did shed a few tears though (such a wuss) but the writing and acting were both superb.

Thanks for the shoutout!! Your original Paddington is sooooo sweet. I loved all the links here and I’m excited to click around -- especially to that 1984 retelling.

Wow, Kate! Jam packed reading and viewing list. Quite a few texts I’d like to look at, including the television show you mention. Re literary journals it is a sad demise. I couldn’t believe that The Believer needed a fundraising campaign to stay afloat (of Zadie Smith and Nick Hornby origins) and I recently learned that The New Yorker relies on philanthropic funding. I mean some of that is ok - it’s good people want to fund these magazines but a shame that’s what it takes. I guess if governments recognised the value in the arts for humanity, they might find more. If an economist could frame it in economic output (which I imagine they could), perhaps they would listen...

Thanks for something to keep me busy this November 😉 Happy to hear you are feeling the creative juices!

Thanks, Kate! I know, there was a lot there this month! 😀 I hadn't realised how much until I posted today. Keep you busy on these dark nights, anyway 😉 Regarding lit journals and funding, I know, it's such a shame. I think it's one reason this platform exists and proves that there are readers out there wanting to find quality writing.
