Love this dive into Sylvia Plath, thank you! And check out Penny Zang's novel, _Doll Part_s (coming this summer) and Emily Van Duyne's _Loving Sylvia Plath_ for more Plath love. <3

Yay!! Then my work here is done!! Such a brilliant novel and was really the inspiration many years ago to spark my research into discovering more about Sylvia.

Fantastic essay! I love Winder’s book too, it’s such a great insight into a part of Sylvia’s life that we don’t often hear about. The similarities between her experiences in New York and Esther’s experiences in The Bell Jar are striking. I love how you’ve drawn those comparisons. Thank you for sharing :)

I read the begininng of this and then saw that I could get the audiobook from my library. It was really interesting to get the insight into Plath but also to being a young, ambitious woman in the 1950s. I think the interviews with the other women on the internship was interesting for this aspect. I am now thinking about rereading The Bell Jar. Have you read any biographies about Sylvia Plath? I find her such an interesting character?

Thanks, Michelle, glad you were inspired to listen to the audiobook. I thought it this particular book gave a unique insight into Plath's world in a way I haven't seen in other books.

I have read many different books and biographies on Plath and am in the middle of researching her further, currently reading Letters Home. I have a few other essays on my newsletter about her and her writing. One book that is an interesting read is Euphoria- don't know if you've come across it? It's a fictionalised account of her last year. Again, I have a review on here.

I’ve always been interested in Plath’s summer in New York after reading The Bell Jar and her journals, and after doing a project on her recently. This was a fantastic read!
