I’ve never heard of Diane Oliver, thank you for shining a light on her work! It’s so sad that she died before she had chance to share more stories. Thank you for sharing :)
I know...so sad, and exactly why I think it's important to shine a light on women's narratives of the past and present, so that more people can find them! Thank you for reading 😀
I’m so glad you wrote this as I just recently picked up Neighbors! I heard about Diane Oliver’s tragic death and immediately wanted to own a copy of her work. I can’t help but wonder what amazing masterpieces she would have given the world had it not been for her accident.
Interesting. I didn't think I knew the name Diane Oliver until I read she “didn’t see how she could play the maid’s part for four years” and a bell rang... and then the fact that she died at 22. I will remember her name now - I must have read a review quite recently, and not recognising the name at the time, it didn't stick.

Thanks, Luka! I know, so tragically young and so talented.
Such an interesting piece. So well researched and informative.
Thank you :)
